Six gold medals on the final day of competition helped Germany regain their place at the top the medal table at the 20th European Athletics Junior Championships, which ended on Sunday in Novi Sad.

Germany's Carolin Schäfer won the Heptathlon on the final day of the European Athletics Junior Championships on Sunday with a personal best tally of 5691 points. The key to her success was a tremendous personal-best throw of 48.20m in the Javelin, an improvement of more than a metre, in the penultimate of the seven events.
