Scandinavium arena during the kick-off meeting for
the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships
that will be held in Gothenburg.
European Athletics concluded a successful visit to Gothenburg on Wednesday for the kick-off meeting of the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships to be held in the Swedish city.
European Athletics Director General Christian Milz led the delegation from the office in Lausanne which met with Swedish Athletics Federation President Lennart Karlberg and key members of the “Göteborg 2013” Organising Committee.
It was the first official visit by European Athletics since its evaluation which resulted in the hosts of the 2006 European Athletics Championships being rewarded the flagship indoor event for 2013.
“I am extremely pleased at such a positive first meeting with our Gothenburg counterparts and I am confident that we will continue to work together towards a fantastic championships in 2013 in the same spirit of understanding and friendship that we have shared over the last two productive days,” said Milz.
The European Athletics delegation visited the Scandinavium arena where the 32nd edition of the event will be hosted 1-3 March 2013.
The majority of all associated activities during the 2013 championships will be held indoors at the adjacent Swedish Exhibition Centre with a unique concept of the entire event being held "All Under One Roof."
