Outstanding individual performers include Ukraine’s Alina Shukh who won the heptathlon title with a world U18 record of 6186 points and Greece’s Emmanouil Karalis who cleared 5.45m in the pole vault.
Prospective stars of this year’s European U18 Championships include Ukrainian world U18 champions Yaroslava Mahuchikh (high jump) and Myhaylo Kokhan (hammer), Spain’s world U18 heptathlon champion Maria Vicente and Norway’s Pal Haugen Lillefosse, who is ranked first on the European U18 lists in the pole vault and second in the 100m.
A sports-loving city is looking forward to welcoming athletes from 48 countries at the beginning of July!
