REH A (GER)
- Gold 20:21.99
During the first and fourth lap I was controlling the position of Jessica Judd. I know she is a fast runner so I wanted to be sure there was enough distance between us. It was a taugh race for me and I had to push myself very hard right at last 500m. I did not know that I could become the first gold medalist in this category from Germany, that makes me feel special. Now I am gonna celebrate and then get back to the training sessions as upcomming European Championships in Berlin is a huge motivation for me.
KLOSTERHALFEN K (GER)
- Second 20:24.07
I knew that my teammate from Germany, Alina Reh, was very fit and I expected we could run together and work on the pace of the race. Last 100m she had more power to speed up and won. I am very satisfied with the silver medal, I knew that Alina is a long distance runner and it didn´t surprise me that she won becuase conditions and the lenght of the course suit more for her. The course is very beautiful, I enjoyed the race even though it was cold and windy.
JUDD J (GBR)
- Bronze 20:44.21
I worked really hard to close the gap between me and the German duo. During the 3rd lap I still believed that I can reach them, however I couldn´t manage it as I had no power left to speed up. I love the course and I really enjoyed it. It is very cold here and I had difficulties to breath, my legs were also pretty cold in the beginning but I warmed up myself after first lap. I will focus my trainings on the Commonthwealth Games which will be held in April 2018.
