European Athletics and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) are teaming up again to develop tomorrow’s sport and community leaders by organising a Young Leaders Forum from 25-28 June in conjunction with the 2012 European Athletics Championships in Helsinki.

Representatives between the ages of 18 and 26 have been invited from each of European Athletics' 50 Member Federations to take part in the Forum, where they will share their ideas for developing the sport and their local communities through clubs, schools and events.

Building on the success of two previous European Athletics-UNESCO Young Leaders Forums in 2006 (Gothenburg) and 2010 (Barcelona), this edition's programme will feature project presentations from members of the European Athletics Young Leaders Community and workshop discussions on how to expand the community and lead volunteer projects.  For more information about the Forum programme click here.

The Forum will take place in the idyllic lakeside surroundings of the Kisakallio Sports Institute, just outside of Helsinki.  After the daily working sessions, the participants will be transported to city the centre to attend the Opening Ceremony and first two evening sessions of the Championships, where they will be accredited to sit in the Team Tribune alongside the event's competitors.
