ECCC Track and Field Junior Group A in Ljubljana this Saturday
The 100m offers a head to head between Adrian Perez of Playas de Castellón and Shaftesbury Barnet's John Otugade. Though Perez has the faster PB of 10.62 compared to the Briton's 10.85, the Spaniard's time was set two years ago, his fastest so far this year standing at 10.79. On the women's side, Fenerbahce's Nimet Karakus is swiftest on 11.33 this year.
The 200m could also go to Spain, the only athlete under 22sec being Oscar Husillos on 21.33SB/21.20PB. Karakus has a chance of a sprint double, but has Blackheath and Bromley's Dina Asher-Smith (23.49PB 2012) to contend with.
Albert Holibka of TJ Sokol Opava heads the 400m entrants (48.79) while Fenerbahce's Emel Sanli (54.13) looks a good bet for the women's race. Over two laps Kyle Langford of Shaftesbury Barnet and Tomasz Vystrk of TJ Sokol Opava face off as well as Federica Del Buono of Atletica Vicentina and Erdgas Oberthurgau's Lea Laib.
The 1500m could witness an exciting three-way tussle between Playas de Castellón's Ignacio Diaz Cano, Frank Bailey of Shaftesbury Barnet and the fastest in the field, Rimgaudas Morkunas of Nike Klaipeda with Fenerbahce's Emine Hatun Tuna looking to have little opposition on the women's side.
Over 3000m Shaftesbury Barnet's Michael Callegari and Playas de Castellón's Angel Ronco top the entrants and Kaidi Kiviova of Rakvere Vike stands out in a women's line-up which is more evenly matched. Playas de Castellón's Victor Ruiz in the steeplechase, Fiamme Gialli's Andrea Zambito in the sprint hurdles and another Spaniard, Alfonso Holgado in the 400m hurdles round off the track events for the men. Claudia Junquera of Playas de Castellón versus Sevda Hanim Seyis of Fenerbahce's in the 'chase, Ottavia Cestonaro of Atletica Vicentina in the 100m hurdles and Blackheath and Bromley's Samantha Brown in the one-lap hurdles are potential winners.
Juan Ignacio Lopez in the high jump, Manel Miralles in the pole vault, Adrian Valiente in the long jump and Marcos Ruiz in the triple jump are all evidence of Playas de Castellón's strength in depth. Kadriye Aydin of Fenerbahce, Paula Linares of Playas de Castellon, Kaia Soosaar and Laura Maasik of Rakvere Nike will compete in the equivalent events on the distaff side.
Angel Poveda of Playas de Castellón and Enka Spor Kulubu's Emel Dereli lead the shot entrants, Nick Percy of Shafesbury Barnet and Belén Toimil of Playas de Castellón the discus, Dempsey MacGuigan of Shafetesbury Barnet and Novi Beograd's Sara Savatovic the hammer and Henrikis Pozingis of Nike Klaipeda and Berivan Sakir of Fenerbahce the javelin.
Last year's winners were Playas De Castellon of Spain and for the women Audacia Record Atletica of Italy.
