European Champion Clubs Cup T&F Junior Group B & C in Leiria

The Portuguese city of Leiria hosts the European Champion Clubs Cup Track and Field Group B and C competitions on Saturday 15 September. The top two clubs will gain promotion to the higher league next season.

The sprints look like a battle between Skive's Morten Madsen and Tampereen Pyrintö's Mikko Laiho with Jordan Mouteirou of Entente Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines figuring in the 100m.

Martina Cernochova of Olymp Brno dominates the women's sprints with Tampereen Pyrintö's Ella Rasanen a contender in the short sprint.

Brno's Eliska Kutrova goes in both the 400/800m but will face competition from Tampereen's Eliisa Rasanen over one lap and Josefine Rytter of Sparta over two.

The men's 400m is less clear cut with three men under 51sec: Babacar Diop of Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines, Cliff Ellsworth of AV Lycurgus and Lukas Privalinec of SG Stavbar Nitra. Gustav Vad Thomsen of Skive and Denis Danac of SG Stavbar Nitra are a cut above the rest in the 800m.

Clonliffe Harriers' Aaron Hanlon is the only sub-4 1500m entrant, while team-mate Ian Guiden is fastest over the 3000m. Lada Novakova of AD Kronos has dipped under 4:40 in the metric mile with Anna Mikkelsen of Sparta, Tessa Den Heijer of Gorronigen Atletiek and Barbora Blahutova of Brno evenly matched in the 3000m.

Helena Tlusta of Kronos is the only athlete under 11min for the steeplechase this year. The men's 'chase is open-ended with only two times declared, the fastest being Remco Kramer of Lycurgus.

Menno Vloon of Lycurgus dominates the high hurdles with team-mate Cliff Ellsworth under 54sec for the one-lap version. Four women have dipped under 14sec for the highs: Jana Sotakova of Brno, Reeta Hurska of Tampereen, Suzanne Williams of Gorronigen and AK Spartak Dubnica nad Vahom's Lucia Mokrasova. Sotakova is also fastest over one lap.

High jumper Tatiana Gousin of A.C Kifissia has cleared 1.84 this year while three women have gone over 3.60 in the pole vault: Rebekah Silhanova of Brno, Rosana Ojala of Tampereen and Lydia Stoubou of Kifissia. Marta Traoré of Sparta has cleared 6m in the long jump.
Sparta's Letitia Bruun and Nora Ritsen of Gorronigen have both bettered 12m in the triple jump. Eva Reinders of Gorronigen in the shot (14.92) and hammer (63.33), Lisboa e Benfica's Juliana Pereira in the discus (47.96) and javelin specialist Louise Odgard of Sparta stand out.

Leaders the men's jumps are pole vaulter Menno Vloon of Lycurgus (5.19PB), Jordan Monteirou of Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines in the long jump and triple jumper Ricardo Mendes of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Amongst the throwers, 70m javelin specialist, Alan de Deugd of Lycurgus, is prominent
