Great
Britain's reigning European indoor 60m champion and European 60m record holder
Dwain Chambers sped to the second fastest time in the world when he clocked
6.57 in Birmingham on Saturday.
He
ran his time in the semi-finals of the meeting before clocking 6.58 in the
final.
Chambers
set his European record of 6.42 last year in the semi-finals at the European
Athletics Indoor Championships in Torino last year and he is the third fastest
man ever at the indoor discipline.
Behind
the flying Chambers, who is likely to be a candidate for a medal at next
month's World Indoor Championships, there were also some quick times by two
former world junior champions.
Mark
Lewis-Francis was second in 6.66, after running 6.65 in the semi-finals
while Harry Aikines-Aryetey was third in
6.67 after a 6.66.
