All four of the athletes in the hunt for the ÅF Golden League Jackpot - Isinbayeva, Bekele, Stewart and Richards - continued their campaigns on a night where Olympic champion Usain Bolt stormed to a 9.79s win in the 100m at the Meeting Areva, the fourth of sixth meetings of the ÅF Golden League 2009, at the Stade de France in Paris, on Friday.

Hampered badly by rain, Yelena Isinbayeva ended her day after just one vault, a clearance of 4.65m that proved enough to give her the top prize and keep her in the Jackpot hunt.

Former world record holder Svetlana Feofanova also abandoned the competition following an awkward fall with a first time success at the height of 4.55m to finish in second place. Anna Rogowska ended third on 4.55m.

Ethiopian Olympic champion Kenenisa Bekele rebuffed the challenge from his American rival Bernard Lagat, finishing the 3000m contest in 7:28.64. Lagat, who had given the challenge everything he had, finished in a personal best of 7:33.15 but was no match for his Ethiopian rival. France's Mourad Amdouni was third in a European season's lead of 7:37.50.

Sanya Richards powered away in the 400m field to take a solid 49.34s victory. Jamaican Novlene Williams was second (50.39) and Botswana's African champion Amantle Montsho ran 50.61, her season's best, for third.

Kerron Stewart finished the women's dash virtually unchallenged, winning in 10.99sec.

Local heroes Renaud Lavillenie and  Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad completed comprehensive wins to delight the home crowd.

European indoor champion and new French record holder Lavillenie cleared 5.70m to take the men's Pole Vault title. He was closely followed by compatriot Damiel Dossevi, who managed to make it over 5.60 to take second place amid adverse weather conditions.

France's Olympic silver medallist Mekhissi-Benabbad won the Steeplechase in 8:13.23, overcoming a strong challenge from Kenya's 2004 Olympic champion Ezekiel Kemboi (8:15.27) and Finland's European champion Jukka Keskisalo, whose 8:15.59 was a PB.

High Jump world champion Blanka Vlasic of Croatia won her event with a low key 1.99m ahead of joint silver medallists from Osaka, Anna Chicherova of Russia and Italy's Antonietta Di Martino, who on this occasion cleared 1.97, separated only by countback, ending respectively second and third.

Double Olympic champion Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway registered his second Golden League win in a row over archrival and world champion Tero Pitkämäki of Finland with an 88.03m release. The Finn finished with 86.68m.

In the women's 800m event, Italian Elisa Cusma registered her second podium finish with a season-best 1:58.99 to claim second. USA's Anna Willard won the race with a PB 1:58.80. Russia's Oksana Zbrozhek (1:59.13) finished third having lead on the home straight.

Beijing silver medallist Briton Phillips Idowu won a low key Triple Jump with 17.17m (+0.9m/s).
