Hungary's Krisztian Pars will be one of the stars to
watch out for at Sunday's European Athletics Outdoor
Classic Meeting - the Cezmi Or Memorial in Istanbul.
The 65th edition of Cezmi Or Memorial in Istanbul on Sunday, a European Athletics Classic Meeting, sees a host of potential medal contenders at the European Athletics Championships next month go through their paces.

In the men's Hammer local star and Turkish record holder Esref Apak, a former World Junior champion and the 2004 Olympic Games bronze medallist will clash with Hungary's in-form Krisztián Pars, who has already thrown 79.64m this season.

Great Britain's 2010 World Indoor champion Dwain Chambers will be running in the 100m while Russia's Aleksandr Shustov, the joint world leader in the High Jump having cleared 2.33m this summer, will be in his specialist event.

There is also a strong field in women's 1500m where the Ukraine's Anna Mishchenko, who currently leads the European rankings the 4:04.37 she ran to win at the European Athletics Permit Meeting in Warsaw on Tuesday, will stand on the start line with Turkey's 2009 European Athletics Indoor Championships 3000m gold medallist Alemitu Bekele.

Nevin Yanit, Turkey's 100m hurdles record holder is the top name in her event and, like Bekele, will also be assured plenty of support by the home crowd.

Ukrainian javelin thrower Vira Rebryk will also compete in the Turkish capital, flying straight there after finishing third at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Rome on Thursday night.
