Jesus Espana beat Sergio Sanchez in a tactical race in the 5000m (14:06.37 to 14:06.65).
Miguel Angel Sancho cleared an excellent 2.26m in the high jump, while the surprise winner in the long jump was Jean Marie Okotu with 7.84m (-0.1).
Angel David Rodriguez clocked 10.40 (+0.5) to win the 100m.
In the women's events Mercedes Chilla won the javelin with a throw of 60.91m to beat Nora Aida Bicet (59.86).
European Athletics U23 Championships medalist Julia Takacs won the 10000m walk in 44:05.41 over Maria Vasco (44:45.18).
Anna Maria Pinero won the pole vault (4.41m) and Isabel Macias was victorious in the 1500m (4:22.49, with Natalia Rodriguez not starting).

In Koper, the highlight of the first day of the Slovenian championships was the men´s 100m when Matic Osovnikar finished in 10.30 (+1.9, also 10.30 in heats +1.5) ahead of Gregor Kolakovic's 10.32.
Marija Sestak achieved a windy 14.18 (+2.4) in the triple jump with Snezana Rodic not competing due to illness.
Matija Krajnc won the javelin (78.55) and Marina Tomic the 100m hurdles (13.36, +2.0). Croatian guest Ivan Horvat won the pole vault and cleared a new national record 5.40m.
In Santry, Kate Veale was an easy winner of the women’s 5000m walk in a time of 21:30.18, which was a new Irish junior and U23 record. During the first day of the Irish championships Paul Hession ran a great race to win the 200m in a time of 20.51 which is inside the standard for both the worlds and Olympics. The wind behaved with a +0.6 reading. Steven Colver chased him home in a time of 20.84.
In Basel, on the final day of the Swiss championships Lisa Urech won the 100m hurdles in a quality 12.89 (-0.3) time. Irene Pusterla leaped to 6.55m (+0.4) in the long jump, and French guest Melanie Melfort cleared 1.88 in the high jump. In the sprints, 20.79 (+0.8) by Alex Wilson in the 200m was the standout performance.
In Turku, Tommi Evila achieved 8.08m (+1.4) to win the Finnish championships long jump title over Ronni Olikainen, who improved the national under-23 record to 8.04m (+1.7).
Olli-Pekka Karjalainen claimed another hammer title (75.20), Jere Bergius cleared 5.60 in the pole vault and Antti Ruuskanen achieved 82.21 in the javelin qualification.
Karin Storbacka claimed victory in the 800m (2:03.97) with 14-year-old Johanna Matintalo second in a new national youth record of 2:05.87.
In Szekszard, European junior champion Marcell Deak Nagy clocked 46.41 to win the Hungarian championships 400m senior title. Eva Orban improved the championships record in the hammer to 70.71.
Bence Banhidi leaped to 7.81 (+1.1) in the long jump and Balazs Baji, just returning from London, claimed the 110m hurdles title in 14.22 (-2.0).
In Osterbro, the Danish championships shot put title was claimed by Kim Christensen with a 19.78 throw, while Nicklas Hyde claimed the 400m in 46.85.
In Innsbruck, national hurdles record holder Beate Schrott won the 100m in 11.86 (-0.5) during the first day of the Austrian championships. Roland Kwitt was the fastest male in 10.64 (0.0). Andreas Vojta clocked 1:48.80 to win the 800m.
