Portuguese Nelson Evora won the Triple Jump
title at the World University Games in Belgrade,
Serbia, with a leap of 17.22m.

Olympic and world gold medallist Nelson Evora added yet another title to his glittering cabinet of trophies by winning the top prize in the Triple Jump at the World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia, on Thursday.
The Portuguese leaped 17.22m (-0.7) to pip Olympic finalist Hector Fuentes of Cuba who fell marginally short at 17.13m after posing a serious challenge to Evora.
European champion Vanya Stambolova of Bulgaria clocked the fourth fastest time in Europe this season - 55.14 - to win the 400m hurdles. German champion Jonna Tilgner finished second in 56.02 ahead of Danish Sara Petersen, who set a new national record of 56.40.
Russian Vyacheslav Sokolov emerged as the only European winner in the middle distances, taking the men's 1500m in a close finish in 3:42.49, just 0.01 ahead of Algerian Samir Khadar. Home runner Goran Nova joined the duo on the podium with 3:42.88.
In the technical events, African record holder Sunette Viljoen won the Javelin (62.52), beating world junior record holder Vira Rebryk of Ukraine, who could only throw 61.02m.
Russian Eduard Malchenko won the High Jump on a count back after tying with Canadian Michael Mason at 2.23m.
Belarusian Mikhial Shubianok emerged victorious in the Decathlon after accumulating a high average in the Discus, Javelin and 1500m to muster a final score of 7960 points.
Russian Sergey Bakulin won the men's 20km Race Walk, setting a new Games record in 1:20.52. Compatriot Andrey Ruzavin also produced a season-best performance of 1:21.08 to take the second place while Brazilian Moacir Zimmermann grabbed third place with a time of 1:21.35.
