Despite a strong tail wind of +3.0, none of the athletes could achieve a sub-10s time. Atkins finished in 10.00s ahead of Obikwelu (10.08) and Samuel Francis of Qatar who also finished with 10.08s. Among the women, American Gloria Asumnu achieved 10.95 (+2.5) to win the race.
