Spanish athlete Natalia Rodríguez will return to competition 29 November on the streets of Barcelona - the first time she will compete since her disqualification in the 1500m final at the IAAF World Championships in Berlin in August.

Newly crowned 2009 European Athlete of the Year Marta Domínguez will also feature in the Jean Bouin race, organized by 2010 European Athletics Championships media partner Mundo Deportivo.

The 3000m steeplechase world champion started her winter season at the Cross de Atapuerca last Sunday, when she coasted to a 19th-place finish in the first European Athletics Cross Country Permit race of the season.

The last encounter between Rodríguez and Domínguez took place at the Meeting de Madrid in July 20009, when Natalia nipped in to beat Marta by hundredths of a second in the 1500m.

Domínguez has not participated in the Jean Bouin since 2001, when she finished fourth. Rodríguez returns to the competition she won in 2005. She has also claimed second in 2006 and 2008 and third in 2003.

The race will take place on Barcelona's famous Montjuïc Mountain - the start and finish line will be at the Font Màgica - and is 6.635km long.

Rodríguez initially finished first in the 1500m worlds final in Berlin in August but was disqualified for tripping Gelete Burka with 200m to go. She has not competed on the track since and has yet to start her winter season.
