The European Athletics Competition Commission held its final meeting of the 2011-2015 period in St. Petersburg from 20-22 March.

The commission, led by European Athletics First Vice President José Luis De Carlos, analysed the progress of European Athletics' events and reviewed the Indoor and Cross Country Permit Meetings 2014/2015.

The commission looked back at the past four years of activities and made recommendations for the future Commission that will be appointed after the Bled Congress next month.

The appointed working groups presented their reports and recommendations to the commission and proposals on the following issues: proposals to amend regulations and officials’ appointments for European Athletics events and meetings, proposals related to technologies (timetable tool, video recording and transponders) and the proposal for the creation of a new European Athletics VDM and Photo-Finish Panel.

The Commission also discussed the proposal for a new competition structure and the future qualification system for the European Athletics Championships.

Competition Commission members Mikhail Butov, Pierce O'Callaghan, Dobromir Karamarinov, Ivica Matijevic, Toralf Nilsson, Frank O.Hamm, Anna Riccardi, Jean-Pierre Schoebel, Libor Varhanik, Athletes’ Commission representative Periklis Iakovakis and European Athletics Head of Competition Célia Mendes were present during the meeting.
