Mo Farah has raced once all year - and it was a performance that took him into the record books again.

Now, almost a month to the day when he ran a world best for the Two Miles indoors, he is looking for a fresh personal landmark.

Farah will compete in the 25th Lisbon Half Marathon on Sunday with an aim of going under the hour and if he succeeds, he will break his own British record time.

'I want to run my personal best, ' said Farah, speaking to sapo.pt. 'It is a stellar field here, a fast course.'

It was in Birmingham on February 21 that Farah ensured a record-breaking indoors when he smashed the Two Mile world best with a brilliant performance of 8:03.40.

On Sunday he is expected to face a field that includes leading Kenyan marathoner Stephen Kibet, who has a half marathon best of 58:54, while Farah’s quickest was the 1:00:00 exactly from last September’s Great North Run.

In terms of record-breaking, history will at least be with Farah as the half marathon world record time of 58:23 was set on this course by Eritrean Zerzenay Tadese in 2010.

About a year ago, it was all about Farah's preparation for his full marathon debut in London, which saw him finish eighth.

He then went on to have another amazing summer as he won double track gold at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich, taking the 5000m for the third time and the 10,000m for the second.

The Olympic and world champion at both distances will be determined to keep hold of gold in both those events at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing in the summer but he wants to make his rare appearances this winter are ones to remember.
