The German Athletics Federation (Deutscher Leichtathletik-Verband) has created an incredible time-lapse video of the construction of the long jump arena used during the recent National Championships.

Six thousand spectators watched the long jump competition on the main market square in Nuremberg on Friday. And with 17,300 fans in the stadium on Saturday and 22,500 on Sunday, the German Championships attracted a total audience of 45,800 - about a 50 percent increase on 2014.

Constructed over three days, the unique long jump arena was compliant with competition rules and set up for peak performance.

The men's winner was Fabian Heinle with 8.03m, while the women's winner was Lena Malkus with 6.74m.
