Final entries for all three leagues of the European Athletics Combined Events Team Championships are now available on their respective pages of the European Athletics website.
Four decathletes have been entered to contest the Super League, which will be held in the Estonian capital Tallinn, who have scored over 8000 points in their careers but the most notable name and competition favourite is Ukraine’s 2012 European decathlon silver medallist Oleksiy Kasyanov, who has a career best of 8479 and has already put together a score of 8281.
The other in-form man is Estonia’s 23-year-old Janek Oiglane, who improved his personal best to 8037 at the famous Götzis multi-events meeting last month.
Switzerland's Geraldine Ruckstuhl – who leads the world U20 lists – and Estonia’s Grit Sadieko set national records of 6291 and 6280 in Götzis and they head the list of heptathletes.

The First and Second League will both be held in the Spanish town of Monzon, whose mayor is a 1992 Olympic decathlete Ãlvaro Burrell.
Local star and 2017 European indoor heptathlon silver medallist Jorge Ureña will be looking to put together a big score and is targeting his first 8000-plus decathlon.

In his current form, Ureña starts as the favourite but also in the First League field is Sweden’s Marcus Nilsson, who has a best of 8104 and who was eighth at the Amsterdam 2016 European Athletics Championships.
Catching the eye among the competitors in the First League heptathlon is the Netherlands’ 2014 world indoor pentathlon champion Nadine Broersen, who also took the European Athletics championships silver medal that year, and also Czech Republic’s in-form EliÅ¡ka Klučinová, who was second last weekend on home soil at the high-quality Kladno competition with 6285.
In the Second League, Belgium’s Niels Pittomvils has a fine chance to win his first major international decathlon as the only man in the field to have gone over 8000 points.
The women’s field sees Lithuania’s Austra Skujyte in action but as the two-time Olympic medallist is now 37 and a little off the form that took her to the podium in Athens and London, the contest for first place is likely to be a close duel between Greece’s Sofia IfantÃdou, Norway’s Ida Marcussen and Slovakia’s Lucia Slaniková, who can all score over 6000 points on their day.
