Pole vaulter Holly Bleasdale denied Anna Rogowska a place in history in Göteborg as she won gold in a vault-off. Poland's 2009 world champion had sought to become the first woman to retain this title, but had to settle for silver after failing to clear 4.67m and then seeing the 21-year-old Preston athlete, ten years her junior, achieve that height.
