Seven European Athletics staff members participated in the highly competitive 10km race and finished a creditable 10th among 50 competing teams in the overall team rankings. The staff once again demonstrated "Your Sport for Life" is not just a motto at European Athletics – it's a way of life.
As the governing body of athletics on the continent, European Athletics stresses the importance of participation in athletics for healthy living, with the head office keen on practicing what they preach.
More than 13,000 people from all over the world participated in the various categories of the race. Despite the extreme weather conditions on Sunday, the enthusiasm among the participants and those who cheered all along the course was infectious, with athletics once again showing it is "Your Sport for Life."
