Belarus' former world junior champion Vitaliy Alisevich dies | 31.10.2012
Alisevich also competed at the 1994 European Athletics Championships, when he made the final and finished ninth.
His personal best was 82.16m, set in 1988 when he was eighth in the world rankings that year, and a mark which also then ranked him 11th of all-time but with five other throwers from the Soviet Union in front of him, he did not get selected for the Olympic Games that year in Seoul.
He was also over 80 metres in the years between 1992 to 1994 and continued to compete until 2003, throwing over 70 metres every year from 1985 until his retirement.
After his retirement, Alisevich worked for the Belarus State Border Committee.
European Athletics' condolences go out to his wife, the Belarus international heptathlete Tatiana Alisevich, the individual winner of the 2005 European Cup Combined Events Super League, and the rest of his family.
