There are 35 Member Federations with athletes competing.
The current record number of competitors is the 468 athletes that started at the 2006, 2008 and 2010 SPAR European Cross Country Championships.
The previous highest number of countries to participate in the SPAR European Cross Country Championships was 34 nations that made the trip to the town of Albufeira on Portugal's Algarve coast in 2010.

European Athletics will stream live the Budapest 2012 SPAR European Cross Country Championships with English-language commentary.
The live streaming platform at http://eurovision.digotel.com/ea/index.html is brought to you in partnership with European Athletics' principal sponsor SPAR.
Athletics fans around the world will be able to watch the championships live in their entirety. Fans will also be able to instantly rewind the action and watch video on demand of an event just a few minutes after it has finished.
A Facebook feature allows fans to chat with each other as they watch the action unfold, while they can follow all the latest news and opinions on the championships through a feature that lets them follow the @Euro_Cross and @EuroAthletics Twitter feeds and see all the Tweets with the #Budapest2012 hashtag.
