BATTOCLETTI N (ITA)
- Gold 13:57.58
I don't know exactly what it fells to be the reigning champion, it was probably better the first time but I'm very happy about this win. I didn't feel much pressure coming here, I was probably more nervous in the U20 European Championships, in Boras, this Summer. Here, there are athletes like Mariana Machado (POR) and Klara Lukan (SLO), there are a group of top athletes. I hope I will continue to win like this in the future.

- Bronze 14:09.42
I'm not going to lie, I was expecting to win a medal here today - and I hoped for gold, to be honest, because I worked really hard for this. I was running for the win today, but I-m very happy with my third place. The most important is the whole process to be here, and be able able to compete. I did everything it had to be done leading up to this race, it involved hard work and a lot of sacrifices to be in shape. I have to be really pleased for getting here and taking a medal for our country, Portugal. I felt perfectly fine during the race, but sometimes you win, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but I'm very pleased with my performance. I loved running here in Portugal, I'll probably remember this moment for a long time - it was an incredible feeling to hear my name being called so loudly, and throughout the whole race. I'm very grateful for this support, it was an extra motivation to run from the front. I was ready for a few more laps, so I could enjoy this as much as I can. I'm really proud I was able to bring a medal to my home country.
