European Athletics last week opened the bidding process for a range of major events between 2017 and 2020, including its showpiece European Athletics Championships in 2020.
European Athletics said it expects more than 1,500 athletes from 50 countries to compete in the 2020 European championships, which will follow the 2016 edition in Amsterdam and the 2018 event in Berlin.
The major events in addition that are open for bidding are:
2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships
2017 & 2018 European Cross Country Championships
2018 European Athletics Team Championships Super League
In addition to the major events, European Athletics has a whole profile of other events and corporate activities that are available to bid for as well including:
Age group Championships, Winter Throwing, Race Walking, Mountain Running, 10,000m, the yearly Convention and biennial Congress where all Member Federations are represented.
