As a response to ongoing travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, European Athletics is organising a series of free medical webinars which are aimed specifically at medical experts, physios, sport scientists and medical staff of Member Federations.

The first webinar takes place on 12 November with a lecture focusing specifically on the COVID-related sanitary situation with a view to elite athletics and how to respond to the fast and evolving nature of the pandemic.

The second webinar on 10 December focuses on issues which are particularly pertinent to young female athletes such as Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) and how to keep good health while training for high level sport. The webinar will also address various nutritional strategies.

The first medical webinar of 2021 will take place on 14 January, exploring the current knowledge on tendinopathy management, one of the main injuries sustained by elite athletes across all events..

And the last currently scheduled webinar on 4 February 2021 will provide an update on the conclusions from the injury and illness surveillance studies which have been conducted on the sidelines of the recent European Athletics Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

The full webinar programme can be found under Related Documents and anyone wishing to attend any of the webinars are requested to register for each session using this link.

The Medical Webinar Series is the latest series of webinars launched by European Athletics to ensure expert knowledge is still imparted during coronavirus times, following on from the ongoing European Athletics High Performance Webinar Series.
