Czech Republic’s Jan Kudlicka and Ukraine’s Yuliya Levchenko were presented with awards by their respective National Olympic Committees.

Kudlicka was presented with the Fair Play Prize by the Czech Olympic Committee for a gesture at the Czech Championships in Trinec in June. Kudlicka won the title with a 5.60m clearance but he gave his gold medal to his 17-year-old rival Jan Svec who sustained a serious injury in the competition which was staged in very challenging conditions.

Levchenko was recognised at the Golden Tracks in Vilnius, Lithuania last October for her exploits in 2017 when she was named Rising Star. She was also named “Sensation of the Year” across all sports by the Ukrainian Olympic Committee at the annual “Heroes of Sports” awards.

Only 19 at the time, Levchenko cleared 2.01m to win a silver medal behind Mariya Lasitskene at the IAAF World Championships in London. She also won the European U23 title in Bydgoszcz and a bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade.
