A calf injury sidelined Nafissatou Thiam for the entirety of the indoor campaign but the reigning Olympic, European and world heptathlon champion will return to the combined events at the end of June.
The prestigious Gotzis Hypo-Meeting on 25-26 May - an event which she won in both 2017 and 2018 - will come too early for Thiam but the Belgian is planning to contest her first heptathlon of the year at the Decastar in Talence on 22-23 June.
'Nafi has trained well since the calf injury but Gotzis is a bit too early. Talence will be her first important competition of the season. She is looking forward to it and it will be a good test before the World Championships,' her manager Kim Vanderlinden told Belgian media.
Thiam, who will travel to Antalya in Türkiye for a month-long training stint, will also compete in some individual events ahead of Talence to gauge her preparation but her competition schedule is yet to be finalised.
