What a comeback it’s bound to be for Sweden’s Susanna Kallur who’s first race is scheduled for the Karlsruhe meeting on 31 January according tp aftonbladet.se. The same venue where she set her 60m world hurdles record in 2008.

She will also be competing at home in the XL Galan indoor meeting on 19 February. At a press conference for the XL Galan, Kallur spoke about how she has missed the adrenaline of competition and while she has spent a long time out through injury, she always kept the dream alive that she would be able to return to the hurdles.

On the other hand France's Myriam Soumare, a triple medallist at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich, will forego the 2015 season, the French athletics federation informs.

The 28-year-old French sprinter explained that she has not had a break from athletics for the past ten years and that she needs to rest in order to be strong for the Olympic Games and European Athletics Championships in 2016.

She will be a big loss to the French 4x100 team, who were disqualified at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow, before winning silver this year in Zurich. Her time of 22.11 over 200m from the 2014 Brussels Diamond League meeting puts her third on this year’s world list.

In preparation for the 2015 season, German sprinter Julian Reus will have an 8 week training camp in South Africa. After running a national record of 10.05 in 2014, he has the potential to break the 10-second barrier.

He’s currently dealing with some knee pain, an injury that bothered him during the European Athletics Championships, although he still managed to successfully anchor Germany’s 4x100m to silver.
