President Svein Arne Hansen chaired his first Executive Board meeting from the new House of European Athletics in Lausanne on Wednesday 2 November, ahead of the inauguration party to be held on Thursday evening.

The EXBO, which includes Vice-Presidents Dobromir Karamarinov (BUL), Jean Gracia (FRA), Frank Hensel (GER), Council members Libor Varhanik (CZE) and Toral Nilsson (SWE) and Director General Christian Milz (SUI), prepared for this weekend’s meeting in Lausanne.

“We and the staff are delighted to have moved into our new offices and look forward to welcoming our European Member Federations for tomorrow evening’s inauguration,” said President Hansen.

“I would like to thank in particular our European Athletics CEO Christian Milz for leading the successful delivery of our new home after such a busy year for the organisation.

“Following the excellent impressions from last summer’s European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam, we want to carry this momentum and begin a new chapter in the history of athletics.

“Our House of European Athletics establishes a new meeting point for our 51 Member Federations and I do hope they will enjoy the look and feel of the new premises.”

Several federation Presidents, General Secretaries and other sporting dignitaries are expected to be present for the inauguration event. All guests will appreciate a live orchestral ensemble and enjoy some tasty delicacies throughout the evening.
