  • Watch what happened when Lavillenie faced some hurdles in training ...

Pole vaulter Renaud Lavillenie has been enjoying some fun in the sun following his record-breaking exploits this season ... and showing off some impressive hurdling feats.

According to his Twitter feed @airlavillenie, the Frenchman, who won gold at the Zurich 2014 European Athletics Championships in August, is training on the French island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean.

'Good little hurdles session in the sun. It's nice!' writes Lavillenie.  He's not a bad hurdler at all judging by the video he posts.

One of Lavillenie's followers says French hurdler Pascal Martinot-Lagarde had better watch out!

Lavillenie, who won Olympic gold in 2012, had a fantastic season in 2014, crowning it by being named IAAF Athlete of the Year and winning the European Athletics Golden Tracks award as European Athlete of the Year.

Who can forget his 6.16m world record jump in February 2014? We don't need any excuse to watch that vault again!
