European Athletics President Svein Arne Hansen had personally invited each of the Presidents to deliver keynote speeches following the 25th European Athletics Congress held on Friday morning, where Kosovo was accepted as new member.

At the European Athletics Congress on Saturday morning, the European Athletics Court was approved as a body to consider legal cases. The European Throwing Cup, European 10000 m Cup and European Race Walking Cup were the new approved names of existing events.
Christian Milz, formerly Director General, will see his job title changed to Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Team rankings will be awarded at the European Athletics Championships in marathon and half marathon.
