The Belgrade 2013 SPAR European Cross Country Championships attracted a television audience of 6.74 million viewers (excluding news audiences) across Europe when it was broadcast in December 2013.

A total of 13 International Broadcasters across Europe showed 36.5 hours of cross country coverage from the one-day event.

The total broadcasting time was more than 42 hours, including 5 hours on Eurosport Asia, the first time a broadcaster outside Europe has shown the event.

Television channels in France, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Serbia and Sweden broadcast live and delayed action, highlights and sports programme footage of the championships.

The cumulated television audience for Budapest was the second highest total in the last six years of the event, with only Velenje 2011’s audience of 8.61 million topping Belgrade’s audience.

The next SPAR European Cross Country Championships, the 21st edition, will take place in Samokov, Bulgaria, on 14 December 2014.
