In the aftermath of winning silver at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Prague in March, Ireland’s Mark English insisted he would savour every moment.
'I will celebrate tonight because you do not get a medal every season,' he said.
Except, he is winning a medal every season because for the second time in a matter of months, English had found himself on the podium, following up his 800m bronze from the European Athletics Championships in Zurich with this success in the Czech Republic.

Where next to celebrate?
It could be Heraklion on the Greek island of Crete as English defends his individual crown at the First League of the European Athletics Team Championships on 20-21 June.
At 22, he is in the midst of the best spell of his career and it began with his win in Tallinn 11 months ago to bank Ireland maximum points in the team championships.
He triumphed in 1:47.63 from Hungary’s Tamas Kazi in 1:48.42 and Slovenia’s Zan Rudolf in 1:48.64.
While it is, of course, a team competition, that victory was a springboard for English who headed to Zurich's Letzigrund Stadium in August where he finished third, a performance which saw him named as Ireland’s Athlete of the Year in 2014.
As he reflected upon that medal and his silver from Prague, he knew how many more eyes were watching him at the European Athletics Indoor Championships.
In some ways Zurich will always be special, because that was my first medal. But this (Prague) is right up there, because I was probably under a little more pressure here. There was no pressure at all in Zurich last summer. No one really expected it.
But with expectation came a run to match and he will be an important part of the Ireland team in Crete which faces opposition from host nation Greece, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland and Türkiye.
