European Athletics is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Sigyn Ekwall of Sweden, a leading member of the athletics community.
Sigyn dedicated her life to the sport of athletics, and was deeply involved in solving regulatory issues both nationally at the Swedish Athletics Federation and internationally with her role as a member of the IAAF Technical Committee from 2011.
Sigyn was awarded a European Athletics Women’s Leadership Award in 2013 for her accomplishments.
Her commitment to the sport will be remembered.
