Led by President Svein Arne Hansen, the European Athletics Executive Board met in the Bulgarian city of Pravets on Wednesday 9 October.

The President received update reports and recommendations from Vice Presidents Dobromir Karamarinov, Jean Gracia and Frank Hensel, as well as from Director General Christian Milz.

The main topics for discussion included the organisation of European Athletics events and the development of an anti-doping licensing system.

Among other decisions during the meeting, the EXBO agreed to appoint two new project groups to conduct an extensive evaluation of the situation in the 51 European Athletics Member Federations and to gather different opinions on the restructure of the competition calendar.

These project groups will meet for the first time during the European Athletics Convention held from 16-18 October in Lausanne, Switzerland.

“A lot of important topics were addressed during our EXBO meeting and I’m thankful to be working with this strong united team,” President Hansen stated upon closing of the meeting.

“Our attention is now focused on staging a successful Convention hosted in the home of European Athletics in Lausanne.”
