Portugal’s Ana Dulce Felix and Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen have been voted men's and women's Athlete of the Month for December.
Voting has taken place across European Athletics’ Facebook, Twitter and Instagram since Thursday and Felix decisively topped the women’s voting with 5123 votes across the three platforms ahead of Italy’s European U20 cross country champion Nadia Battocletti with 3793 votes and European high jump champion Mariya Lasitskene with 2091 votes.

Felix, who won the European 10,000m title back in 2012, made an excellent return to top-level racing in the Valencia Marathon at the start of December, finishing fifth in 2:25:24. This was the second fastest time of her career and the second fastest time by a European marathon-runner in 2018.
It was an all-Ingebrigtsen affair on the men’s side with Jakob prevailing in the voting with 4831 votes ahead of older brother Filip (2824 votes) and European U23 cross country champion Jimmy Gressier from France with 2111 votes.

Ingebrigtsen eased to his third successive U20 title at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Tilburg where he also led Norway to the team title in the second race of the day.
All three Ingebrigtsens will now turn their attention to the upcoming indoor season which culminates with the Glasgow 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships from 1-3 March.
