Final entries for the 17th European Throwing Cup in Leiria, Portugal on 10-11 March are available to view here.

A total of 291 athletes representing 39 Member Federations, as well as seven Authorised Neutral Athletes, will be competing across the programme which is made up of 16 events.

The event will be headlined by three reigning global senior champions across the two day programme: Olympic discus champion Christoph Harting from Germany, world javelin champion Johannes Vetter from Germany and world hammer champion Pawel Fajdek from Poland.

Vetter extended his world lead to 91.22m in Potchefstroom, South Africa on Wednesday (28) and he will no doubt have the championship record of 85.85m held by teammate Julian Weber set in Las Palmas last year in his sights.

Weber won’t be in action but six senior winners from last year will be returning: Austria’s Lukas Weisshaidinger (discus), Bosnia & Herzegovina’s Mesud Pezer (shot put) and France’s Quentin Bigot (hammer) on the men’s side and Hungary’s Anita Marton (shot put), France’s Alexandra Tavernier (hammer) and Slovenia’s Martina Ratej (javelin) on the women’s side.

World silver medallist Daniel Stahl will face Harting and Weisshaidinger in the discus while the women’s event includes Germany’s Nadine Muller who set a still-standing championship record of 68.89m in 2012.
