With five days to go until the Golden Tracks award ceremony takes place in Tallinn, Estonia on Saturday (26), European Athletics can now reveal the men’s and women’s European Athlete of the Year and Rising Star finalists.
The Golden Tracks voting procedure takes into account four different components: fan voting across social media, media voting, European Athletics Member Federations voting as well as the expert European Athletics Panel vote. Each component accounts for 25 percent of the voting process.
Last year’s European Athletes of the Year were France’s Kevin Mayer and Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith. Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Armand Duplantis were jointly awarded the men’s Rising Star trophy while Belarus' Elvira Herman was crowned women’s Rising Star.
The Golden Tracks award ceremony will also be streamed live with more details to follow later this week.
