A list of qualified athletes who have also accepted their invitations for the pentathlon and heptathlon at the Glasgow 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships can be found here.

The number of participants is limited to 12 in each event with a maximum of two athletes per country. The defending European indoor champions - France’s Kevin Mayer and Belgium’s Nafissatou Thiam - are automatically qualified to compete in Glasgow.

Six places are allocated to athletes according to their positions on the 2018 European outdoor list for decathlon (men) and heptathlon (women) which can be found on the records and lists section of the website here. In the event of an athlete withdrawing, the place shall be reallocated to the next best performer on the list.

The remaining places will be allocated to athletes according to their scores achieved for heptathlon (men) and pentathlon (women) during the indoor season as at 10 days before the first day of the championships.

Mayer and Estonia’s Maicel Uibo have both confirmed they will not be competing in the heptathlon and Germany’s Carolin Schafer and Switzerland’s Geraldine Ruckstuhl have also ruled themselves out of the pentathlon.

The full qualifying criteria for the multi-events can be found in Appendix No.2 of the Competition Regulations.
