According to current intentions received by the European Broadcasting Union, national broadcasters in Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Spain will show live coverage of the 18th edition of the event.
There will be at least 26 hours of live television coverage of the premier continental cross country championships in 2011.
National broadcasters in Belgium, Finland, Hungary, Netherlands, Russia and Türkiye will show delayed coverage.
The total number of hours of intended coverage may increase once the broadcast intentions of any remaining rights-holders are received.
This year’s broadcast intentions improve on the 2010 figures, when 12 countries forecasted 22 hours of live coverage.
European Athletics has already confirmed that it will stream live the Velenje 2011 SPAR European Cross Country Championships with English-language commentary.
Cross country fans around the world will be able to click through to the live stream link from the European Athletics website homepage and watch the championships live in their entirety.
English commentary will add colour to the action throughout all six races in the Slovenian city.
The Opening Ceremony will be broadcast from 10:30 CET with the first race to start at 10:45.
Athletes' post-race interviews will be uploaded to the European Athletics YouTube site throughout the day of the event.
The event is supported by European Athletics’ long-standing international partners SPAR, OMEGA, LE GRUYˆRE and EUROVISION, along with a number of national partners and suppliers.
