With the focus of the 2014 edition of the International Festival of Athletics Coaching firmly on developing “High Potential into High Performance,” the European Athletics Coaches’ Association is delighted to announce that the coach of Great Britain’s latest sprinting talent Chijindu Ujah and speed coach to Olympic Long Jump Champion Greg Rutherford is to present in Rome.
Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo was a part of the UK Athletics Apprentice Coach programme in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympics, working with world renowned coach Dan Pfaff in the four year lead up to the Games. His experience in sport is not limited to athletics, having also worked with rugby for a number of years.
Since graduating from the Apprentice Coach programme, Tawiah-Dodoo has been working closely with a number of talented young sprinters, with his most recent prodigy Chijindu Ujah hitting the top of the British 100m sprint rankings with a sub-10 second run earlier this year. Ujah, the 2013 European Junior 100m champion, is the youngest Briton to break the mythical 10-second barrier.
Since 2013, Coach Tawiah-Dodoo has also taken charge of Olympic long jump champion, Greg Rutherford’s speed work. This year Rutherford has seen a big bounceback following his Olympic gold, taking both the European and Commonwealth titles.
Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo will be presenting both practical speed sessions and seminars at IFAC 2014, focusing on his experience in making the winning difference and developing “High Potential into High Performance”
