The European Athlete of the Month voting for April is underway through our European Athletics Twitter and Facebook pages. Athletes with the most combined Twitter 'retweets' and Facebook 'likes' will be named winners.

The voting for April closes at 12:00 CET on Monday 4 May, so hurry up and cast your vote!

The European Athlete of the Month initiative was launched in January 2007 and is designed to recognise outstanding performers at all levels of the sport in Europe.

No athlete who has previously served a two-year doping ban can be nominated for the European Athlete of the Month.

MEN

Thomas Barr (IRL) ran a European-leading 400m hurdles time of 49.04 to win at the Tom Jones Classic in Gainesville, USA, on 24 April.

Lee-Marvin Bonevacia (NED) set a national 400m record of 45.40 on his way to defeating the Borlée twins in Gainesville, USA, on 24 April.

Dan Bramble (GBR) made a huge breakthrough went he added 30cm to his personal best with a European-leading long jump of 8.21m in Clermont, USA, on 18 April.

Renaud Lavillenie (FRA) the reigning Olympic and European pole vault champion cleared a 2015 European outdoor best of 5.80m at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, USA, on 24 April.

Homiyu Tesfaye (GER) showed his range ran a European-leading time of 27:54 over 10km on the roads in Paderborn on 4 April.

WOMEN

Anita Marton (HUN) the 2015 European indoor shot put champion reached a European-leading distance of 18.62m in Drazevina, Bosnia, on 26 April.

Sara Moreira (POR) won the Iberian 10,000m championship race in the Spanish town of Huelva in a personal best and European-leading time of 31:12.93 on 11 April.

Tiffany Porter (GBR) flew over the barriers to a European-leading 100m hurdles time of 12.56 in Clermont, USA, on 18 April.

Dafne Schippers (NED) sped to a European-leading 200m time of 22.63 at the Tom Jones Classic in Gainesville, USA, on 24 April.

Ekaterini Stefanidi (GRE) the 2014 European pole vault silver medallist cleared a world-leading outdoor best of 4.71m at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, USA, on 24 April.
