Organisers have opened the registration system and announced the preliminary programme for the International Festival of Athletics Coaching (IFAC), which will take place at the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland, from 28 to 30 October.

IFAC, one of the world’s top annual events for coaches, is organised by the European Athletics Coaches Association (EACA) with support from European Athletics. In 2010 the festival attracted more than 300 participants from 16 countries.

This year’s edition will feature presentations by former European indoor champion high jumper Dalton Grant (GBR), Don Babbitt (USA), Wolfgang Ritzdorf (GER), Vern Gambetta (USA), Penny Werthner (CAN), Elio Locatelli (ITA) and Jimmy Beauttah (KEN).

The festival programme will also offer increased opportunities for interaction between the participants and experts.

“We’ve increased the number, and variety, of practical workshops to deliver something for all types of attendees, whatever their level of experience or expertise in athletics”, says EACA President Frank Dick. “The festival generates an unmatched opportunity to build and energise personal development networks all the way from club to international level.”

Up to date programme details and booking information can be found at the IFAC website www.ifacscotland.co.uk.

European Athletics’ support for IFAC includes the offer of Coaching Summit Series scholarships to its Member Federations to help them cover the costs of travel and accommodation for coaches attending. For further information click here.
