Looking to Lille Métropole

Home

From 24-25 June 2017 the top-12 European Athletics nations will compete for the Team Championships Super League title.

Stadium Lille Métropole will be the stage for the European Athletics Team Championships. The SLM is the centre of athletics in the area and the major venue for rugby in Northern France.

Lille is an experienced sports host with a dynamic sporting culture. In 2014, it hosted the rugby National Championships semi-finals and the finish line for the 4th stage of the Tour de France.

In 2015, EuroBasket came to its Pierre-Mauroy Stadium and this summer it staged several matches of the Football EURO 2016 including the Wales vs Belgium Quarter-Final.

The Stadium Lille Métropole stands on the edge of a large park with great transport links to the metropolis. From there it is a short trip to the young and welcoming city of Lille Métropole and the surrounding area. With 85 towns and over a million people, it is constantly reinventing culture, sports and fun.

The community of Lille retains many unique traditions from its Flemish history and some exceptional heritage stands alongside the most daring contemporary architecture. Visitors will experience a combination of Burgundian, industrial, trading, green and gastronomic culture.

Visit Lille in 2017 and learn what makes life special in this multi-faceted region.
