German javelin thrower Thomas Röhler and Dutch sprinting sensation Dafne Schippers have been voted European Athletes of the Month for May.
Voting for European Athlete of the Month took place through our European Athletics Twitter and Facebook pages over the past week. Athletes with the most combined Twitter 'retweets' and Facebook 'likes' were crowned the winners.
With more than 750 combined likes and retweets, Schippers was the winner on the women's side. The reigning European Athlete of the Year ran European-leading 100m and 200m times of 10.83 in Doha and 22.02 in Hengelo.

Röhler won his first European Athlete of the Month award with close to 400 Facebook likes and retweets on Twitter. He threw a world-leading 87.37m at the Golden Spike meeting in the Czech city of Ostrava on 20 May.
