It is hard to believe that David Storl is still only 24 such is his impressive medal collection.
And now the German shot putter could be about to bid for another title, which would be among the best of his young career.
Storl’s winter has been centred on an operation on his left knee and the recovery from that, but he has confirmed he will make his season’s debut at the national championships at the end of the month.
His aim is a shot put of 21 metres or more, and if he achieves that, or equally as important, he comes through the competition without any side effects, he could be set for a place in the team for the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Prague from March 6-8.

If he makes it to the Czech Republic and reaches the podium, it will be one of the stories of the whole weekend considering how little competition he has had all year.
Storl is one of the great, modern-day field event stars of European Athletics, as he demonstrated to its full last summer.
First, at home in Germany in Braunschweig at the European Athletics Team Championships in June, he helped his country to lift the title as he won with 21.20m to beat Poland’s double Olympic champion Tomasz Majewski with 20.57m.
Then two months later, he nailed gold at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich in the first round on the final as he reached 21.41m to retain his crown, from Spain’s Borja Vivas with 20.86m and Majewski with 20.83m.
Once more 2015 will be a big year for Storl.
He has never won the European Athletics Indoor title - he was second in Paris in 2011 - and in the summer he will be chasing a hat-trick of golds at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing.
