A total of 21 European Athletics’ Member Federations travelled to Berlin for a Team Leader site visit on 26-27 October ahead of the Berlin 2018 European Athletics Championships from 7-12 August.

The European Athletics Championships forms part of the inaugural multi-sport European Championships which will run from 2-12 August alongside co-hosts Glasgow.

The site visited included an inspection of the four team hotels which will be used during the championships as well as the competition facilities. The team leaders also visited the European Mile at the Breitscheidplatz where the marathon will conclude and the race walking events will take place.

There was also a general meeting on the Thursday morning when Team Leaders were given a thorough briefing in preparation for next year’s championships. The quality of the information provided for the Team Leaders shows a good level of organisation and preparedness from the Berlin 2018 Local Organising Committee.
