European indoor bronze medallist Strahinja Jovancevic will compete for Serbia in the long jump and 4x100m relay at the European Athletics Team Championships Third League in Skopje

Serbia was relegated two years ago but they are among the favoured teams for promotion back into the Second League. Their team features European indoor bronze medallist Strahinja Jovancevic in the long jump and 4x100m relay, former European indoor champion Asmir Kolasinac in the shot put, Elzan Bibic in the 1500m and 3000m and veteran Olivera Jevtic in the 5000m.

Also relegated from the Second League in 2017, Moldova and Iceland have also named strong teams. Moldova will be strong in the throwing events with world U20 discus champion Alexandra Emilianov and Dimitriana Surdu in the shot put while Iceland can expect big points from Youth Olympic Games winner Gudbjorg Jona Bjarnadottir in the 100m and 200m and Anita Hinriksdottir in the 800m and 1500m.

Albania’s Luiza Gega has entered the 3000m steeplechase and 5000m and former European bronze medallist Hanna Skydan competes for Azerbaijan in the hammer.
